Text for double page spread article
Before the rapper Big Sean hit the stage in Manchester he tweeted "Manchester I hope your ready to turn up! It's my 1st time here n I'm finna go in! #GOOD #FFOE" Knowing that it was his first time preforming here at the HMV Ritz, I knew his show would be something special also, as he recently released his ‘Detroit’ mix-tape as well as his label ‘ G.o.o.d Music’ album ’Cruel Summer along with Kanye West and other label mates.
The gates opened at 19:00 which you would think you'd get to see a preformance at the latest of 20:00, but unfortunately not, the general mood and atmosphere of the room had started to dip. Standing in the middle of groups of young people for over an hour just waiting for something to happen. The wait got a little bit better as they started to play the ultimate hip hop classics. The crowds spirits lifted as they bumped 'n grinded to songs coming from the legends such as Outkast and RUN DMC.
The support act for the Finally Famous star was the not so famous, K Koke, it was a shock when I found out that he had been signed to Jay-Z’s ROC Nation Record label for a while. Despite 90% of the crowd not knowing who he was or why he was there, he tried his best to motivate the crowd and promote himself and his new single 'Turn Back Featuring Mavrick Sabre' but as the wait for Big Sean was dragging on and on, all of the fans were more interested in getting him off the stage rather than listen to him rap his unknown songs... badly.
Once Big Sean finally hit the stage he started off with the amazing 'I Do It'. Undoubtably it set everyone off, you wouldn't expect the crowd to move as much as they did. Throughout the night he made a point of connecting with crowd including a speech about following your dreams and celebrating what you have and working for what you want. It was a very inspiring moment as it does just go to show that your dreams can come true if you work hard enough. As he rapped a mix of songs from the first album Finally Famous and the mixtape Detroit, by far the most emotional song was 'Memories' which originally features John Legend. In a lot of his songs he relates to his hometown of Detroit, you can clearly tell that he apprieciates the fame and wants to make his hometown proud, he even started to cry a little, which just shows how real he is about it all.
His high energy performance was at the max from start to finish. With the help of his DJ Mo’Beats he delivered all his best hits and collaborations to the highest standards making the crowd go absolutely crazy. The highlight of the show was definitely when he rocked ‘Clique’ and ‘Mercy’ from the Cruel Summer album that sent the hype through the roof and back again.
At the end of the show he offered to meet and greet any fans who bought merchandice at the event. This was a great opportunity for crazed fans to meet their idol and it also just goes to show that all of the fame hasn't gone straight to his head and that he appreciates the support from his fans. All round it was an excellent night and you definately got a great experience for the low price of tickets.

Evaluation
1) How do your magazine pages conform to (or depart from) the typical conventions of magazine design?
Like all other magazines, my magazine front cover has a masthead, coverlines and taglines. It also has a cover image and the text around the cover image does not cover the face. The number of colours that i used on my magazine are less than 5 as that is like all other magazines
2) How are young people represented in your magazine?
In my magazine, young people are represented as talented, opinionative and clever people. The main stories include latest achievements of the students and it gives the college a good name.
3) What have you learned about technologies in the process of producing these pages?
I have learned how to use very useful programmes such as Photoshop and Quark, I also learnt how to create professional looking magazine pages using both programmes. Another thing I learnt was how to use a camera properly and how to take good pictures using a camera
